Sleeping and Eating

Natalie is great! All she does is eat and sleep, but that is what newborns do. She still has part of her nights and days mixed up. She thinks 11pm to 2am is party time, but she is getting better.

Natalie has a weight check on Thursday, but I think she will be fine. She has really started eating good, in fact we are about to have to use a normal 4oz bottle versus her baby style looking bottles.

Carter got to meet his new baby sister this past weekend. He was so cute. First he wanted to share his cars with her, by putting them under her car seat. Then every time she would make noise, he would run over to check on her (sweet big brother). He also let us know if we were being to loud by telling us, "Baby Natalie is sleeping...SHHH." I love my little man!

Being Discharged!!!

Once again, we are blessed! We are getting released from the hospital today.

We will be staying in Dallas at least through August. Natalie's doctors want her to get bigger, before we make any major decisions. We will go to clinic once a week for the next several weeks here in Dallas at Children's. At the end of August, we will make the decision of if she needs the first surgery, we stay in Dallas until her 4 to 6 month surgery or we are able to be released to head back to Amarillo until her next 4 to 6 month surgery...waiting game right now.

I am such a planner and for the past several months my life has been a day by day planning, which has been extremely hard for me. Every time I actually try to plan, God once again shows me He is in control and I need to be patient. I know He is in control and I am okay with that, because I honestly do not want the job of worrying about everything, I know God has a perfect plan for us. The patience has been difficult, but I am doing better.

Carter is back in Dallas after a long visit with Larry's parents in Texarkana. He is getting to meet his baby sister later today. I am pretty excited to have my entire little family her with me for the first time since Natalie was born.

No More Cords

Today was another great day! Natalie had her IV removed from her hand and the doctors removed all of her monitors. We are now focusing on her feeding, trying to fatten her up.

God is amazing!

New Floor and Feeding

We have had a great last two days! Natalie is able to feed by mouth. She took 47cc a few hours ago, which is wonderful. We also moved floors; Natalie is now on the 8th floor, the cardiac floor. On this floor, we stay with her 24/7 learning to feed her and take care of her before she can leave.

The doctors are still monitoring her, but this is what we were hoping for. Right now we are still not 100% sure about the first surgery. We will watch her over the course of the next several weeks and go from there. She will have to have surgery eventually, but that might not be until 4 to 6 months of age.

Carter came to Dallas with Larry's parents on Sunday and Monday. He was so much fun to see, but it is hard after a csection with a two year old. Children's has this huge train area and I wish I could have captured Carter when he saw it for the first time. He was running around the lobby screaming, "Choo Choo." He was priceless! I have attached a picture of Carter with a few of his friends from Texarkana and of course a new picture of Natalie (4 days old).

Psalm 28:7

"The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts; so I am helped, and my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him. Amen."

I got out of the hospital on Saturday and came to see my little girl. She is beautiful! I have gotten to hold her several times, in fact she may be getting a bit spoiled, but who cares. The doctors will do another echo on her tomorrow and we will find more out if she needs the first surgery or not. Right now she is great, just sleeping a lot. She is not able to eat yet, which does not seem to bother her.

I get my staples out tomorrow afternoon from my surgery. Busy day for the Bunn family! I am getting stronger daily and hope to be able to move faster the a snail in the next couple of weeks.

I thought I would leave today's post with a little prayer I got yesterday from Baylor.

Natalie Elizabeth Bunn - July 16, 2009

Well, we have had an interesting last few days. I went to Children's Hospital for a tour and to meet the surgeon on Wednesday, July 15. Wow, Children's is incredible and Dr. Forbess our surgeon is wonderful! We are truly blessed to be here in Dallas.

I then woke up at 4:30am on the 16th, to have my water break. I made it to Baylor with plenty of time, but I must say..."You women out there that have natural labor; You Rock!" I was only dilated to a 3 and that was enough for me. I did get an epidural and the csection began around 6am.

Natalie was born at 6:31am. She is 5lbs 9oz and is beautiful! I did get to spend plenty of time with her before she was transferred to Children's. I know I am partial, but I am think she recognized my voice when I talked to her. The transport team was great and there was even a gentleman who grew up in Amarillo.

Natalie is stable and doing great over at Children's. There is a chance she may not be required to have the first surgery, but we will not know fore sure for several days. The doctors took her off some medicine and will be closely monitoring her for before they let us know anything. She seems perfectly happy and content!

I am hoping to get out of the hospital this weekend and will be with her again. I have gotten to see her virtual crib and when I figure out where my camera is, I will get a picture of it, because it is really cool.

I hope everyone has a blessed day! God once again should me no matter how I try to plan something, even a scheduled csection, He has is own perfect plan. God is awesome, what can I say!

Natalie now weighs 5lbs 5 oz

I had another doctor's appointment today and they weighed Natalie. She now weighs 5lbs 5oz, which is one pound heavier since the last time they weighed her a month ago. This is great news, because she needs to be big and strong after birth for her surgery.

I have a meeting set up next week to tour Children's Hospital and meet with the surgeon, Dr. Forbess. I am really excited about this, because I will finally get to see where she will be and get to visit more in-depth about her surgery with Dr. Forbess.

My 4th of July was not too exciting, but wonderful. Larry and Carter came to Dallas to visit me for the weekend. It was great to see my boys and spend time with them. I sure did miss them! Our apartment is right by Dallas Love Field, so every time an airplane takes off it flies over the pool area. Carter let us know every time a plane was in sight..."Airplane in the sky, Airplane." He had a great time.

I am not sure I will post again until next week after my meeting with the surgeon, so I hope everyone has a great weekend!
