I know I have not been the best at posting in 2012. I guess I could say, my New Year's Resolution of posting more often, went out the window in the first month.
Does a New Year's Resolution have to start at the beginning of the year or do you have master it by the end of the year? I have never understood that, personally. I like to think a New Year's resolution is still good, as long as you get it done in two or three years. I have good intentions, but life seems to always get in my way. I guess that is what happens when you have a 5 year old and a 2 year old.
I spend a good portion of my days, telling my kids to hurry up, because we are late. Why is it I think I have more time than I do? It use to take me 2 minutes to get in the car, now with two kids and all their gear, they think they need, it takes 20 minutes from the time I say, "Lets get in the car," until we are actually pulling out of the driveway with both kids in the seats and buckled up. Not to mention, the puppy, power ranger, Natalie's purser and all her accessories in tow.
So, here is a little bit of what has been going on...
Carter turned 5 in December and is in Pre-K or almost done with Pre-K. Really, my baby boy is going to be in Kindergarten next year? He is doing awesome in school! He has also started back with soccer this spring on the same time from the fall, The Wolves. Carter is getting so much better and I think he has a liking for a defender. However, he does have a leg on him and can kick the ball from the half and make it in the goal sometimes. The parents laugh, because you can literally close your eyes during the game and know when Carter kicks the ball, because it is so loud and full of force. I have really had to get on to him at home, because he will walk by a ball of any kind and just kick it. I know it is only a matter of time before we are buying a new window.
Carter also wants to be a Power Ranger when he gets older. Yes, we have high expectations in this family. He has asked me several times, if Amarillo has Power Rangers. We have a new obsession. I have recorded more Power Rangers episodes, then I ever cared to. Did you know, there is not only Power Rangers, but also Super Samurai Power Rangers and Dino Power Rangers? Oh yes, it could be a whole day of fun. He also loves the Power Rangers Wii game, which he can rent from Red Box, if he gets all his stickers on his responsibility chart.
Natalie is 2 1/2 now, where has that time gone? She is doing pretty good. Her oxygen has dropped since January again. She is still in the 80s, but low 80s. I have noticed her getting tired more easily here lately. I do not know if it is the hot weather or her oxygen. She took a 2 hour nap the other day and then just wanted to lay in my lap for the next hour. She actually asked me at one of Carter's soccer games last weekend, if we could go home because she was tired. Kicker is, she had just woken up. She is also turning into a little chatterbox. I normally have someone talking to me at all times of the day and even sometimes at night, when Larry talks in his sleep.
We take Natalie back to Dallas in June for another heart check up and for her scoliosis check up as well. I am a little concerned with both to be honest. She put on a swimsuit the other day and lets just say one side fit great and the other side was too big in the straps and the hiney. I forget about her scoliosis most days, but that swimsuit was a slap back to reality. But for now, we will just take one day at a time.
I do not know about the rest of the US, but here in Amarillo we have this moth plague going on. When I say plague, I mean I have killed 20 moths inside my house today, that is not even the ones in the garage. A few poor ones get my frustration with the fly swatter and some just sit there and let me step on them. I have never really been a fan of moths, but I now can say with totally honesty, I despise the creatures. I opened my blinds this morning and it was just flat gross; probably 50 to 100 moths flying and hitting the windows. The news keeps saying they will be gone in a week or two, but I would not mind if the were gone tomorrow. Carter has taken an active role with the fly swatter, however, I am just waiting to hear the crack of a lamp, but so far his batting average is not bad.
I am now off to bed, to try and get some sleep in before I have a little sweet angel that thinks she needs to join us as some point. She always starts in her bed and here lately, there has been a few nights were she does sleep all night in her bed, but then there are the other nights. I mean, how do you say no, when she snuggles up next to you and say, "I love you, Mommy."
I do have a prayer request: Larry's sister has been super sick with pneumonia. She even cracked a rib from coughing, that just sounds painful and miserable. Please pray for God's healing on her and the entire family, as illness has been passed around.
I say master it by the end of the year and you can count your New Year's Resolution as a WIN! And this post is a great start. Much love and prayers, my friend.
