Run and Roar

The National Mended Little Hearts put on a virtual run/walk this year.  I did not start a team or anything, because it was the first year and the first time for me to do a virtual run, so I wanted to see what it was all about first.

You had one week, the week of Congenital Heart Defect Awareness week to run or walk 13.1 miles or for younger kids 1 mile.  You could run them all in one day or spread out your running however you pleased.

I signed up for the 13.1 miles and Carter signed up for the 1 mile.  I ran 6.5 miles + 3.6 miles +3 for a total of 13.1!  Carter ran his 1 mile all in one day.  I originally hoped he and I could run his mile together and it would be my last mile, but the weather and illness did not work out that way for us.

So proud of Carter and how hard he ran!  I had a great experience and next time will be setting up a team.  There is nothing better to run and know every time your foot hits the ground you are running for one of these kiddos fighting the fight of heart disease.  I can remember every one of Natalie's surgeries and all she has gone through and all she will still have to go through.  If that is not a motivator than I do not know what is.

We got super cool medals for participating

The reason why we ran...how can you not run for her and others fight heart diseases from birth
