Now, when I say long night, I know it can be way worse. We have been through way worse even. But as for tonight, we have had a long evening or early morning, which ever way you want to look at it.
Natalie has been in a lot of pain and discomfort, which is completely understandable. She had 4 screws put in her spine and 2 rods!
It took us most of the evening, but I think we are finally in a good spot with pain management. She is also more awake finally, which has helped.
She did throw up twice, so we had to cut back on the Gatorade. Since, we cut that out, she has been much better.
The night nurse and I have been moving her around some, in hopes to get some pressure of her back, so she has been rolled to each side. Getting her moved, has been painful for her, but once she is positioned she seems better.
We have a few more hours before rounds, so I may attempt to get more than 30 mins of sleep, but we will see. I have not really wanted to go to sleep, because she was in so much pain.
Please continue to pray for pain management as I know the doctor will want her to get up and possibly walk some today.
