I am not really sure how to title this update, so I just didn’t. Natalie had an okay day. She has been super tired today and in a little pain, nothing like the other night (thank goodness).
I finally got her up and when walked to the Child Life Room. It was nice to get her around other kids, even though she got there and after 10 minutes wanted to go back to the room. We had started painting a tile, so I encouraged her to finished before we headed back.
While we were in the Child Life Room, our nurse moved our stuff for us to a new room. They had a new surgical patient coming in and needed the ICU bed, so we got moved up to a regular room.
There is only a hand full of impatients here, so everyone is on one floor together. A lot of the doctors are gone for a conference, so they did not do a lot of surgeries this week. I think there is maybe 15 patients.
We had to do a little tough love today and make her eat. She did not eat great, but did eat more than she has all week, so I will take the baby steps.
She did go on 3 different walks today, 2 of which she cried most of the time. Getting her up and moving, helps her not get so stiff.
Our Dr. wanted to discharge us tomorrow😳. I made it known that I was not comfortable with that yet. I just think everyone forget she functions on half a heart and this surgery has been a lot for her. He was great about it and said we will stay a few more days, making this momma at peace again.
Dr Richards did change outnger dressing and said the incision looked great!
She has currently having a lot of pain, that we are trying to treat and get her comfortable for bed.
Please pray for a peaceful, pain free night or at least manageable pain night. I have a feeling tomorrow will be another tough love kind of day, encouraging her to eat more and walk a little bit more.
She is sleeping on a different side tonight. She told me she wants to see me all night. She does not like me out of her sight for long.
