Natalie has been doing great for the most part. She had a ridiculously high pain tolerance, which can be a double edge sword at times like these. She feels great, but at the same time I have to keep reminding her she is only almost 2 weeks post opt and needs to take it easy.
She really has only been taking one dose of pain meds at day and it is not even the heavy duty stuff. She is a rockstar!
We have been taking extremely small outings the last few days, we both have a little cabin fever. Yesterday we went to my mom’s house briefly. The weather in Amarillo was incredible yesterday, so we rolled the car windows down and enjoyed the sunshine and wind blowing in our face. She even laughs for a bit.

Today, we tried another small outing, however, it did not go as well. We were not out for more than 10 mins when she said she did not feel well. Her lips and face turn pale and white. When we got home, she took a some pain medication and crawled back in bed. After some rest and food, she felt great again. We decided to take it easy today and just lay around some. She was doing great, until about 30 minutes ago, when she felt sick again. I am not sure what is going on, but I am praying tomorrow she wakes up feeling good again.

We are struggling with feeling great and wanting to do more than we should versus taking it easy for several weeks. I have to keep reminding her, she has 8 screws and 2 rods in her back, that are not completely healed and she has to take it easy.
She is still dealing with a lot of emotions. She is an emotional person to begin with, but now having limations is getting to her. She knows they will not be forever, but that does not make it easy for an 8 year old.
Tomorrow we have a day off, no school for Carter, so we get to all hang out at home. Tuesday she starts homeschool. I think it will be nice to have some sort of a rountine each day. I think she is actually looking forward to it.
