Crazy to think a week at this time, we were going into the Pediatric ICU to see Natalie after surgery and today we arrived back in Amarillo! We are both so happy to be home. Natalie has a long way to fill recovery, but we can take it one day at a time. She did amazing in the car ride home! I am so proud of her.
She still has a lot of pain off and on. She typically does pretty good during the day and then by around 6/7pm has intense pain and has a break down. Usually the pain meds help and a heating pad or an ice pack help.
We have a few days to rest and unpack and then Tuesday she starts homebound school. I am not so sure how happy she will be about that and the 2 weeks of school work she has to make up, but it will be nice to get on a new rountine for a while.
We head back to Dallas in a couple of weeks for her 6 weeks post opt before she gets to go back to school.
Thanks again for all the prayers, she would not be doing this good without them!
