Amarillo’s School had Monday off, so Natalie started homeschool this week on Tuesday. We have 2 different teachers, both are incredible. They switch off days and come for 1 hour a day for 4 days during the week. The goal of homeschool teachers; they get the work from Natalie’s teacher for us and then go over new concepts with her. We do have small amount of work to finish afterwards, but it is not to bad.
Natalie is doing really well physically. Infact, I am having to remind her daily she just had back surgery and needs to take it easy. She does great during the day, but has trouble at night getting comfortable. We are typically up 3-4 times a night. She is not necessarily in pain, but just can not figure out had to get comfy. I can not imagine have rods straightening your back all the time.
Mentally though, Natalie is having moments (best way to put it). She is an extremely sensitive child to begin with, but not being able to what she wants has been hard. We keep reminding her, it is temporary as she heals. She had a small break down this afternoon, because she wanted to come outside and hang out. When she got outside, she saw all the neighbors playing soccer and knew she could not. Please pray for her, as restrictions will this be in place for several months.
Natalie has started losing some of her little strips on her back. I can finally see part of her incision and what I can see looks amazing! Natalie heals nicely, which I am so happy about. Her chest “zipper” looks fantastic, so I am praying her back will heal the same.
My heart is breaking tonight and has for several weeks now. We have had so much devastation in America lately with hurricanes, floods, violence and now fires. I ask all of you that have been amazing prayer warriors for us, please say a prayer for all the families effected by these tragic events.
